I'm an experienced Kambo Practitioner and was certified by the International Association of Kambo Practitioners. Kambo is a very individual and intelligent ‘medicine’ and each Kambo consultation needs to be adapted for the client, assuring the best outcome.

Kambo is known as “the vaccine of the forest” and is one of the most powerful, natural antibiotics and anaesthetics found in the world.  It is one of the strongest ways to empower and boost our immune systems and detox us on both the physical and spiritual levels. Kambo is also great for fit and healthy people who just wish to add this to their well-being maintenance. It can help break through mental, emotional and physical blocks.

It is called a medicine by the Matses tribe and other tribes that use this daily as part of their daily lives in the Amazonian jungle. Kambo is used by the hunters to clear negative panema which are emotional energies, increase clarity, stamina and focus. Some people find it very useful as a pain management tool.

Please contact me for more information. It is important that if you wish to receive Kambo that you work with practitioners that are properly trained to administer it for several reasons. We check through a list of contraindications with you, the kambo is sourced ethically by the tribes (other kambo sources may come from vile frog farms that have no respect for the frogs and the kambo comes with negative energy from the poor gentle stressed frogs) and furthermore we are trained to hold space and guide you through your process from beginning to end.

What is Kambo

Kambo is a natural msecretion from one of the largest Hylid tree frogs. Its scientific name is Phyllomedusa Bicolor. Phyllo which means LEAF and Medusa means a GUARDIAN. The secretion is not a poison… in that it alone, is not capable of causing death or illness.

In the Amazon, it is regarded as a medicine. The only known threats to this species of frog at the moment are the potential destruction of their natural habitat and over harvesting by unscrupulous people.

The tribes collect it by singing to the frogs and calling them down from the trees with their mating call songs. The secretion is then removed and stored on sticks for use in traditional methods of application.

What happens in a Kambo Session

  • You will need to fast for between 8-12 hours. So best to eat a light meal the night before.  You may drink water only on the morning of the Kambo session. If you are thirsty, please drink one cup slowly.

  • You will also need to think of an intention you wish to work on. I will have a short consultation with you and go through the contraindications again with you prior to a session.

  • I will need you to drink between 1.5–2L of water before the Kambo is applied. This will help you to purge and release the toxins from your body. You should bring a sarong or change of clothing. Wear comfortable clothing and no long dangling jewellery. Hair should be tied back. You will need to drink more water during the treatment once the purging starts, but I will guide you when to.

  • I will start by making little burns (they feel like small scratches which only lightly penetrate the top two layers of skin) called gateways for the Kambo to go in. In the first session, a test point will be applied to check your reactions with the medicine.  It is then quickly absorbed into the lymphatic system and will stay on for up to 40 minutes during a typical session. Kambo is a short but intense session. Kambo will leave tiny scars which fade with time, however, most people like them as a reminder of their process and session. Some clients even choose designs for follow up bookings.

  • First time basic applications are applied in the traditional jungle way, for men they will receive it on their upper left arm and for females on their lower right leg. Subsequent follow up sessions can be applied to target more focused areas through the chakras, the meridian lines or via points in the ear with auricular kambo. It is normal to feel some heat, or a swooshing sensation around your ears as the various peptides and neuropeptides begin to work.

  • Once the Kambo has cleaned the body you will purge all the toxins out. This purging process works on a physical and emotional level and helps you to break through blockages. You may feel a little tired at this point and need to rest for a very short while, however, some people jump up and walk away immediately energised. Everyone is different.

  • Within a short time – usually an hour or so, you will feel much better and you can drink and eat again and get on with your day.

  • Within a day or so, depending on your state of health, you will start to feel the real benefits. Some people feel hugely energised afterwards. Kambo works differently with everyone, and really is so personal to each and every person who experiences it.

FAQ's

Is Kambo Hallucinogenic?

Kambo is not psychoactive even when taken regularly. There are some old reports of Indians experiencing hallucinations with Kambo but this is probably when it is taken in extremely large quantities (e.g. 10 times in a night which they sometimes do when hunting, as it masks their body odour and when it is used in conjunction with an hallucinogenic plant snuff). Kambo can produce a very short altered state of reality in some people, and many people receive insights and messages about living a healthier life during these few minutes which they find helpful.

Does it leave scarring?

The light gateway burn marks will heal and fade with time but depending on your skin colour and type you may always have small visible scars. Many people enjoy their Kambo scars as a badge of honour. or see it as a Kambo tattoo. The same gateways can be reused time after time after approx 2 to 3 months healing in between. The gateways are sealed after application to ensure swift and sterile healing.

Is using Kambo safe?

Kambo is safe when administered by experienced practitioners. Like all medicines you should ensure you go through a full consultation prior to your session to check for suitability. It is also therefore important for the person administering Kambo to understand any contraindications, and it is also important for people taking Kambo to disclose all health issues. Please be mindful when visiting the Jungles that not all locals will be familiar with Western drugs and their effects with Kambo.

Is Kambo legal?

Yes it's legal in most countries except for Brazil where they have some advertising restrictions.
